These photos represent a small sampling of an ongoing series looking at how advances in technology may or may not be shifting the ways we measure what is “essential.” All photos were taken with “Theodolite,” an augmented reality application that overlays realtime geospatial data on smart phone cameras. Sites at our National and State Parks were selected for their potential to engage complicated legacies of expansion as well as protection.
